怀柔具有悠久的历史，春秋战国时期，著名的渔阳郡即在怀柔;隋唐时期，怀柔始见立名，1368年开始，正式有了现今怀柔县的建制。2001年国务院批准成立北京市怀柔区。1995年9月，联合国第四次世界妇女大会NGO分会在怀柔举行。

 圣泉寺景区地处怀柔区慕田峪长城和红螺寺景区之间，面积4平方公里。紧临怀沙旅游公路，交通便利。景区山水奇美，幽静深远，集众多自然、人文景观于一体，适宜登山健身、休闲观光，探身仿古、礼佛拜祖的国家2A级旅游风景区。
       圣泉山观音寺，一方名胜。相传始建于唐代，复修于明代（有碑文记载），以后历代都有修葺。寺周围南松北柏，繁盛苍翠，为北斗七星点化。寺内圣泉古井，寺前滴水泉，是韦驮菩萨背来。寺小神奇旺，境深灵迹多，历来受到众多人们的信仰和供奉，自古以来就是北京地区著名的观世音道场。
       欣逢盛世，宝像重光，山门重启。2006年4月28日，圣泉山景区正式向社会开放。我们以恭敬心欢迎各界朋友来圣泉山观光旅游，共建观世音道场！

       Holy Spring Mountain(Shengquanshan) scenic spot is located between the Mutianyu Great Wall and Hongluo Temple in Huairou district,Beijing,covering an area of 4square kilometers.It is next to the Huaisha tour road,so the traffic is quite handy.With the beautifu river and wonderful ountains,and a lively mix of nature and humane scenes,it is especially fit for people to climb,enjoy leisuretime,take adventure,explore ancientry,and worship Buddha and ancestors.
       Holy Spring Mountain(Shengquanshan) Guanyin Temple is a very famous resort. It was first built in Tang Dynasty and was repaired constantly during the following generations.The mountains surrounded were covered with booming and emerald trees,pinesin the south while cypress in the north,which is said to be protected by the Gods of the dippers.The Holy Spring Old Wellinside the temple and the Drip Spring out of it are carried here by Bodhisattva Weituo subject to the legend tales.it is known as one of the mostefficacious temple in Beijing.
       Efficacious as the temple is,it is open to the world 28th ,2006,welcome to Holy Spring Mountain(Shengquanshan),sharing happiness and luck brought by the predestined relationship.
